Bordivide (GuessDash)

Draw the missing border between two neighbouring countries.

Every day: A daily set of neighbouring-country pairs, the same for everyone, each shown as one grey shape with the border removed; you draw where the border runs and score up to 1,000 points a round. New puzzle: Midnight in the Netherlands (GuessDash renews its games by the date in Europe/Amsterdam).

Bordivide share card: Ink the hidden border between neighbors, with a map of Spain and Portugal

Bordivide is a GuessDash map game where two neighbouring countries appear as a single grey shape and you ink the border between them. Each round is scored up to 1,000 points by how close your line runs to the real one. The day's pairs are the same for every player.

About Bordivide (GuessDash)

Bordivide is one of the daily games on GuessDash, a site of short puzzles about geography, history, art and data. Each round names two countries that share a border, shows their combined outline on a map with the dividing line removed, and asks you to drag across the map to draw where the border runs, end to end.

When you submit, the game compares your line with the real border and gives up to 1,000 points for the round. A km or miles toggle sits above the map, and an undo button lets you redraw before submitting. The run we opened had six rounds, starting with Bulgaria and Turkey.

The board is dated, so everyone plays the same pairs on a given day, and a new set appears when the GuessDash clock rolls over. You can play without an account; signing up keeps results across devices. It suits players who know their maps well enough to picture a coastline, and want to test whether they really know where one country stops and the next begins.

How to play Bordivide (GuessDash)

  1. Open Bordivide; the first pair of neighbouring countries is named above the map.
  2. Look at the grey shape, which covers both countries with the border removed.
  3. Drag across the map to draw the border from one end to the other; use Undo to try again.
  4. Press Submit border to see the real line and your score out of 1,000.
  5. Play through the day's rounds and compare your total.

Tips

  • Start from where the border meets the coast or a third country; the endpoints anchor the whole line.
  • Rivers and mountain ranges often form borders, so look for them in the outline.
  • Think about the relative size of the two countries before you draw; it tells you roughly where the split falls.
  • Draw the full line in one go, then use Undo if it went badly rather than patching it.
