The Turdle board for October 5, 2026: a poop emoji logo, A Daily Word Game For Sarcastic Dirty Minds, four empty tiles, an on-screen keyboard and a See recent turds button

Turdle is a joke take on Wordle where the daily answer is a silly, rude or slang word. You get six tries with green, yellow and grey letters. Solvers can post a line using the word, and a Recent turds page shows past words with what the first solvers wrote.

About Turdle

Turdle calls itself a daily word game for sarcastic dirty minds, and warns that it contains potty humour. The play is Wordle's: type a word of the day's length, submit it, and each letter turns green if it is in the right place, yellow if it is in the word elsewhere and grey if it is not there at all. You get six tries, and the on-screen keyboard keeps track of the letters you have used.

The answers are where it differs. Instead of everyday dictionary words, the day's word is something stupid, crude or slang, the sort of word you would not expect in the New York Times. On 5 October 2026 the puzzle was a four-letter word, dated at the top of the page.

The twist is the board. When you solve the puzzle you can leave a message that uses the word, ordered by who solved first, and the Recent turds page lists the last few days' words with those messages. The site also shows how many players tried each day's word and how many solved it. It is free, with an ad banner at the top. Adults who like Wordle and do not mind crude jokes are the audience.

How to play Turdle

  1. Open turdle.scritch.net and type a word of the length shown by the empty tiles.
  2. Press Submit guess or Enter.
  3. Read the colours: green for the right letter in the right place, yellow for a letter elsewhere in the word, grey for a letter not in it.
  4. Keep guessing, up to six tries, until you find the word.
  5. If you solve it, add your line to the day's board, then look at Recent turds.

Tips

  • Think crude: the answer is usually slang or a rude word, not a dictionary staple.
  • Start with a word that tests common vowels and consonants, then switch to slang.
  • Check the tile count before guessing; the length is shown by the empty boxes.
  • Read Recent turds to get a feel for the kind of words the game uses.
