The Transit Trail
Get from one small airport to another across the world by picking flights, against the clock.
Every day: A Daily Challenge trip between two airports, the same start and destination for every player, with a daily leaderboard ranked on time. New puzzle: Midnight, by the date on your device (one fixed trip per date).

The Transit Trail is a daily travel puzzle on a world map. You start at one airport and have to reach a far-off destination by choosing which flights to take from wherever you are. Everyone gets the same daily trip, and the fastest times go on a daily leaderboard.
About The Transit Trail
The Transit Trail is a browser game about route finding. Each day it sets one trip between two airports, often small regional ones on different continents, such as La Grande Riviere in northern Quebec to Nelson in New Zealand. You start at the first airport and work out how to reach the second.
From your current location the game shows where you can fly next, and you choose a flight to move on. A counter keeps track of how many flights you have taken, and a timer runs from the start of the trip. When you land at the destination you can view your whole route on the map and enter a name to submit your time.
The Daily Challenge is the same for every player, and its leaderboard is kept per date. Outside the daily trip you can start a New Game at Easy, Medium or Hard for a random route, and share a challenge link so a friend can try the same trip. The daily trips are usually set at Hard.
It rewards a feel for how air networks fit together: which hub airports serve a region and where long-haul connections leave from. It suits geography fans, frequent flyers and anyone who enjoys planning a journey on a map.
How to play The Transit Trail
- Read the day's start airport and destination.
- Look at the flights available from your current location.
- Pick a flight to move to a new airport.
- Keep choosing flights until you land at the destination.
- Enter a name to submit your time to the daily leaderboard and view your trip.
Tips
- Head for a large regional hub first, since small airports usually only connect to a few places.
- Think about which big airports have long-haul flights toward the destination's region before you leave your home continent.
- Speed counts on the leaderboard, so plan the route in your head before you start clicking.
Questions
Is the daily trip the same for everyone?
Yes. Each date has one Daily Challenge with a fixed start and destination, and a leaderboard for that day.
How is the leaderboard ranked?
By the time you take to reach the destination.
Can I play more than one trip?
Yes. New Game gives a random trip at Easy, Medium or Hard, and you can send a friend a link to the same trip.
