Sortanno card from GuessDash: place history cards in chronological order, with two cards over a timeline

Sortanno is a daily timeline game on GuessDash. Each card shows a person, invention, song, landmark or company, and you slot it into the right place among the cards already on the line.

About Sortanno (GuessDash)

Sortanno is one of the free daily games on GuessDash, a site of guessing games about geography, history, art and data. Every day it offers seven editions: Mix, which pulls from every topic, and six themed runs for Inventions, People, Historical Figures, Music, Landmarks and Companies.

Each edition is a run of picture cards. A card names something, such as an Elton John album, a Roman emperor or a bridge in Bosnia, and you place it where you think it belongs on the growing timeline. People are ordered by birth year, inventions and songs by year, landmarks by when they were built or opened, and companies by founding year.

The hub page lists today's editions, and the ones you have played move to the end so the next open timeline is easy to spot. GuessDash's own guide describes Sortanno as the clean one-card-at-a-time timeline, and its sister game Deckanno as the version where you choose from a small hand.

It suits history fans and trivia players who know roughly when things happened, and rewards a good sense of eras more than exact dates.

How to play Sortanno (GuessDash)

  1. Open Sortanno and pick today's Mix or a themed edition.
  2. Read the card: what it is and the clue to its era.
  3. Place it before, between or after the cards already on the timeline.
  4. See the real year and keep going with the next card.
  5. Play the other editions for the day if you want more.

Tips

  • Place the cards you are sure of first; a known century anchors everything around it.
  • Use clues in the picture and description, such as technology, clothing or style, to judge the era.
  • Recent decades can be harder than ancient history because the dates sit close together.
