Circa is a daily history trivia game for iPhone and Android. Each day it picks a real event from today's date in history, hides one word, and you type the missing word letter by letter. You get three credits per question, and a right answer keeps your streak going. After playing you can read a newspaper-style page of the day's events.

About Circa: Daily History Trivia

Circa works like Wordle for history: one question a day, built on a real On This Day event with a blank in it, such as a battle, an election or an invention. You type the answer letter by letter and the cards flip gold when you are right. Each question has three credits; wrong guesses and hints cost one each. Get it right and your streak goes on, get it wrong and it starts again. A full set of five daily questions earns bonus XP, and a perfect 5/5 with no credits lost earns the laurel wreath.

After playing, the Daily Chronicle lays out the day's history as a newspaper, with Wikimedia photos and Deep Reads, longer stories behind the events. Questions span ten categories, from politics, wars and economics to sports, pop culture, inventions and the arts.

There is also a Weekly League leaderboard, best-of-seven head-to-head battles against friends with a 30-second timer and gems to wager, and cosmetics such as profile banners and card styles across 16 prestige levels. Circa is free with no ads. It is made by Jacob Brumm and came out on iOS in March 2026.
