Daydle
Guess the year an event happened on this day in history, in six tries.
Every day: One event that happened on today's date in some past year, the same for every player: guess the four-digit year in six tries. New puzzle: Midnight in the player's local time, from the countdown in the game's code.

Daydle shows one event that took place on today's date and asks for the year. You have six guesses, and each one tells you whether the event came earlier or later and which digits are right.
About Daydle
Daydle is a guessing game built on the idea of this day in history. Each day it shows one event that happened on the current calendar date in some past year, such as a treaty signed, a law passed or a famous fight, and you type the four-digit year you think it happened.
After each wrong guess you get two kinds of help. A hint tells you whether the event came before or after the year you typed. The digits also change colour from left to right: a correct digit is marked, a digit one away from the answer is marked as almost, and the first wrong digit stops the check, so the digits after it are left unknown. Get all four digits in six tries to win.
A hard mode turns off the almost colour, and there are dark and colourblind modes. Your stats keep a streak, games won and average guesses, and the share text gives your digit grid without the answer.
It suits players who like Yeardle or Timeswipe but want one event and a number puzzle on top, where reading the digit colours matters as much as knowing the history.
How to play Daydle
- Read the day's event, which happened on today's date in some past year.
- Type a four-digit year and submit it.
- Use the hint to see whether the event came before or after your guess.
- Check the digit colours: correct, one away, wrong, or not checked.
- Narrow it down and find the exact year within six guesses, then share your grid.
Tips
- Start with a year that splits the likely range in half, like the middle of the century the event sounds like.
- Fix the first two digits before working on the last two; a wrong digit stops the check for every digit after it.
- An almost colour means that digit is one above or below, which leaves only two choices.
- Turn on hard mode only once you are used to the hints, since it removes the one-away colour.

What does the blue digit mean?
