CineLine
Put the day's films in order of release, knowing only who made them.
Every day: One dated set of films a day, the same for every player: place each one on a timeline by release year, knowing only its director, genre and actors. New puzzle: Once a day; the site does not state the time.

CineLine is a daily movie timeline puzzle. One film starts your timeline, and each new card shows a director, a genre and some actors but not the title or year; you drop it where you think it belongs. Hints show a scene and then the title, and your share grid records how many you needed.
About CineLine
CineLine is a small, quick daily game about when films came out. Each day has a dated puzzle, the same for everyone, and past games stay playable.
The first film is placed for you to start the timeline. Every film after that arrives as a card with its director, genre and a few actors, but no title and no year. You click a slot on the timeline where you think it fits. If you are right the card turns green; if not it turns red and slides to its true place, so your timeline is always correct and gets more crowded as you go.
If a card means nothing to you, you can ask for help: the first hint shows a scene from the film and the second reveals its title. Each card's square in your result shows how it went, green with no hints, yellow with one, orange with two and red for a wrong placement.
The game needs no sign-up. It suits film fans who like timeline games such as Chronle, and it rewards knowing who was making films when, not only the famous titles.
How to play CineLine
- Open CineLine; the first film is already on the timeline.
- Read the next card: director, genre and actors, but no year.
- Click the slot on the timeline where you think the film belongs.
- See whether it turns green or red; a wrong card moves to its real place.
- Use a hint if stuck, a scene and then the title, and place every film for the day.
Tips
- Directors' careers are the best clue: an early-career name points to an earlier film.
- Look at the actors together; a cast that was only young together narrows the decade.
- Every card after the first makes the timeline denser, so take more care with the later ones.
- Save hints for cards where you know nobody; one hint costs less than a red square.
