SkyQ (FlightQ)
Read the clues and name both airports of a real mystery flight in five guesses.
Every day: A new mystery flight route each day, part of FlightQ's set of daily geography puzzles, with past dailies in an archive. New puzzle: Once a day.

SkyQ is one of the daily games in FlightQ, a family of geography puzzles about flights and cities. You see a real flight's duration and aircraft and must name its departure and arrival airports, with more clues unlocking after each wrong guess.
About SkyQ (FlightQ)
SkyQ is part of FlightQ, a set of free daily geography games about flights, cities, trains and maps that runs on the web and as an iPhone app by Clay Johnson. FlightQ puts out a fresh batch of daily puzzles every day, and SkyQ is the one about a mystery flight route.
You start with a few facts about a real flight: how long it takes, which aircraft flies it, and whether it is domestic or international. You enter a guess for the airport it leaves from and the airport it lands at. Each miss tells you how many kilometres away each of your airports was, and unlocks a further clue, such as the direction of travel, then the airline, then the route.
You have five guesses to get both airports right. As with the rest of FlightQ, the result can be shared without spoilers, streaks are tracked, and past daily puzzles can be replayed from the archive.
It suits aviation fans, frequent flyers and geography players who like reasoning from distances and flight times.
How to play SkyQ (FlightQ)
- Open SkyQ in FlightQ to see today's flight clues.
- Read the duration, aircraft and type of flight.
- Enter a departure and an arrival airport and submit your guess.
- Use the distance feedback and the newly unlocked clue to adjust.
- Name both airports within five guesses, then share your result.
Tips
- Convert the flight time into a rough distance: a widebody flight of seven or eight hours is a long-haul route.
- The aircraft type hints at the route length and the kind of airline that flies it.
- Use the kilometre feedback for each airport separately to move each guess closer.
