Roundle
Rate itGuess the three lines that make the day's London trip, in six tries.
Every day: One London trip a day, the same for everyone, such as Edgware to Peckham Rye with 2 changes: guess the three lines that make the day's routing in six tries, with colour feedback on each line. New puzzle: Once a day.

Roundle is the London version of Subwaydle. Each day it names a trip, such as Edgware to Peckham Rye with 2 changes, and you guess the three lines that make it, picking from Tube lines, the Elizabeth line, the DLR and the named Overground lines. After each guess, colours show which lines are right and in the right place, and you have six tries.
About Roundle
Roundle is a fork of Subwaydle, the New York subway puzzle, rebuilt for London's network. The day's puzzle is one line of text: travel from one station to another with a set number of changes. Your guess is a trip of three trains, chosen from a keyboard of line names, that could really make that journey with changes between them.
More than one route might work in real life, but only one matches the day's answer, and it is not always the quickest. After each guess the tiles are coloured, Wordle-style: a line in the right place of the trip, a line that is part of the trip but in the wrong place, or a line not used. You have six guesses.
The keyboard covers the Tube lines from Bakerloo to Waterloo & City and also the Elizabeth line, the DLR and the six named London Overground lines (Liberty, Lioness, Mildmay, Suffragette, Weaver and Windrush), so the answer can run off the Underground proper. Everyone gets the same trip each day, and stats are kept in the browser.
It suits Londoners and transit fans who know where the lines meet; anyone who enjoyed Subwaydle can play it the same way.
How to play Roundle
- Read the day's trip at the top: the two stations and how many changes.
- Tap three line names to build a trip, then press Enter.
- Read the colours: right line in the right place, right line in the wrong place, or not used.
- Adjust the lines and try again.
- Find the day's routing within six guesses.
Tips
- Start from the lines that serve the two named stations; the first and last trains are often among them.
- Think about where the lines actually meet: a change has to happen at a real interchange.
- Remember the Overground and Elizabeth lines count as options.
