DailyMetro Paris is a daily guessing game about the Paris Métro. Each guess is a station, and the game tells you which lines it shares with the mystery station, which direction to head, how many letters the name has and how far away it is. Everyone in Paris gets the same station, which changes at midnight local time.

About DailyMetro Paris (Métro du jour)

DailyMetro is a family of daily games built on city transit maps, and the Paris edition is about the RATP Métro. Every day one station is drawn as the answer, and all players in the city hunt for the same one.

You type a station name to make a guess. The game then reveals what your guess has in common with the mystery station: the lines they share, the direction to travel, the number of letters in the name and the distance between them. A Normal mode adds zone information and optional hints, while a Connoisseur mode swaps those for clues about passenger traffic and the origin of the station's name, with no hints.

Beside the main game there is a map mode, where you place the day's station on the network map, and a photo quiz, where you name a station from a picture of its entrance. The game is free, runs in the browser without an account and is available in French and English. The same site runs editions for New York, London, Berlin, Madrid, Seoul and about twenty other networks.

It suits Parisians who know their lines by heart, visitors who want to learn the network, and anyone who likes Wordle-style deduction with a map.

Tips

  • Open with a big interchange such as Châtelet to test many lines at once.
  • Use the direction arrow and distance together to narrow the area quickly.
  • The letter count rules out many stations on the same line.
  • Connoisseur mode rewards knowing station names' origins and traffic, so start with Normal.
