Ubahndoku
Rate itFill a 3x3 grid with Berlin U-Bahn stations that fit each row and column.
Every day: One numbered 3x3 grid a day for everyone (puzzle #278 on 5 October 2026): fill each cell with a Berlin U-Bahn station that meets both its row and its column criterion, in a Normal and an Expert version, with three mistakes allowed. New puzzle: Midnight Berlin time.

Ubahndoku is a daily grid puzzle about the Berlin U-Bahn. Each row and column has a criterion, such as a name containing Platz or a station in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, and you fill the nine cells with stations that match both. It plays in German or English.
About Ubahndoku
Ubahndoku borrows the format of sports grid games and applies it to Berlin's underground. Three criteria run across the top and three down the side. On 5 October 2026 they included names containing Straße, a G or Platz, names with several words or a double letter, and stations in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district. You pick a cell and type a station that satisfies both its row and its column.
You get at most three mistakes, and a station cannot be changed or reused once placed. Tapping the question mark beside a criterion explains it. When the game ends you can tap each cell to see every station that would have fitted, and a score out of 900 sits beside your streak. Each day has a Normal grid and a harder Expert grid, and an archive keeps past puzzles.
A new puzzle appears every day at midnight Berlin time, and it is the same for everyone. The site is in German with an English switch, and is an unofficial fan project using the VBB's open U-Bahn data; it is not connected with the BVG or the VBB. It suits Berliners, commuters and visitors who know the lines.
How to play Ubahndoku
- Open ubahndoku.de, switch to EN if you want English, and choose Normal or Expert.
- Read the three column and three row criteria; tap a question mark for an explanation.
- Pick a cell and type a Berlin U-Bahn station that meets both its row and its column criterion.
- Fill all nine cells without making three mistakes; a placed station cannot be changed or reused.
- At the end, tap the cells to see every valid station, then come back after midnight Berlin time.

Tips
- Fill the most restrictive cell first, usually the one where a district meets a letter rule.
- Keep a mental list of stations with Platz and Straße in their names; they come up often.
- Do not spend a station that fits several cells on the first one you see.
- Play old grids from the archive to learn the network's names.
