ranked.FILM Daily Rank #43 for 6 October 2026: theme Leonardo DiCaprio, with The Aviator, Catch Me If You Can, Django Unchained and other roles in a draggable list

ranked.FILM gives you one themed list of films a day to put in order, best to worst. When you submit, your order is compared with a benchmark built from critical and audience consensus, and you get a Hot Take score for how far you strayed.

About ranked.FILM

ranked.FILM is a daily film ranking game. Each numbered Daily Rank has a theme and a short brief, for example the roles of Leonardo DiCaprio ordered by their overall critical and audience acclaim, and a list of about a dozen films with their year and tagline. You drag them, or use the arrows, into your order from #1 down.

There is no single right answer. When you submit, the game compares your list with its Benchmark rank, drawn from general critical and audience consensus, using a rank correlation, and turns the difference into a Hot Take score from 0 to 100: the higher the score, the further your ranking is from the consensus. It also points out your biggest hot take, the film you placed furthest from where the benchmark has it.

Every player gets the same list each day, so results can be shared and compared, and an archive holds earlier Daily Ranks. A new list arrives at midnight Pacific Time, with a countdown at the top of the page.

It suits film fans who like arguing about favourites more than recalling trivia: it rewards knowing a filmography and having opinions about it.

How to play ranked.FILM

  1. Open ranked.film and read today's theme and brief.
  2. Drag the films, or use the up and down arrows, into your order from best to worst.
  3. Use Shuffle or Reset if you want to start the order again.
  4. Submit your rankings to see the benchmark order and your Hot Take score.
  5. Check your biggest hot take and share your result.

Tips

  • Read the brief: the theme says what you are ranking by, such as critical and audience acclaim, not just your favourite.
  • A low Hot Take score means you agreed with the consensus; aim high if you want to stand out instead.
  • Use the archive to play earlier themes you missed.
