Boxart Movies daily board: a black poster frame with two corner tiles uncovered, the title blanks with THE shown after a colon, a Clue button and a keyboard

Boxart Movies is the film side of Boxart Guessr. Each day it hides one movie poster behind black tiles, shows a few pieces and the shape of the title, and gives you five tries to name the film, with more of the poster revealed after each miss.

About Boxart Movies (Boxart Guessr)

Boxart Guessr is a small daily guessing site with two games, one for video games and one for films. Boxart Movies shows a dark poster frame with only a few tiles of the day's poster visible, and blanks that give the length of each word in the title; small words such as THE and punctuation like a colon or hyphen are shown for you.

You type the film's name on the on-screen keyboard. Each wrong guess fills one of five squares and uncovers more of the poster, and a Clue button helps when the picture alone is not enough. A correct answer earns stars, which unlock original posters of the films you have solved.

There is one film a day and no account is needed. It suits film fans who remember posters, from blockbusters to sequels with long subtitles.

Tips

  • Shown words and punctuation, like a colon before THE, often mean a sequel or a franchise film.
