Boxart Games daily board: a black cover frame with two tiles of game art uncovered, letter blanks for a two-word title, a Clue button and a keyboard

Boxart Games is the video game side of Boxart Guessr. Each day it hides one game's cover behind black tiles, shows a couple of pieces and the length of the title, and gives you five tries to name it, with more of the art revealed after each miss.

About Boxart Games (Boxart Guessr)

Boxart Guessr is a small daily guessing site with two games, one for films and one for video games. Boxart Games shows a dark cover frame with only a few tiles of the day's box art visible, and blanks above it that give the number of letters in each word of the title.

You type the game's name on the on-screen keyboard. Each wrong guess fills one of five squares and uncovers more of the cover, and a Clue button helps when the art alone is not enough. Getting it right earns stars, which unlock original posters from the games you have solved.

There is one game a day and no account is needed. It suits players who remember covers from shelves and store pages; the art spans many eras and platforms.

Tips

  • Count the letter blanks: the length of each word narrows the field fast.
  • Logos and characters often sit in the top third of a cover, so watch tiles there.
