Pinoculars (GuessDash)
Zoom out a landmark photo, then pin where in the world it was taken.
Every day: One daily board for everyone of five landmark photos: hold to zoom the picture out, then pin on the world map where it was taken; closer and faster guesses score more. New puzzle: Midnight in the Netherlands (GuessDash renews its games by the date in Europe/Amsterdam).

Pinoculars is a daily geography game on GuessDash. Each day's board has five landmark photos that start zoomed in; you hold to reveal more of the picture, then place a pin on the world map, scoring for both distance and speed.
About Pinoculars (GuessDash)
Pinoculars is one of the daily puzzles on GuessDash, a site of short geography, history and estimation games. Each round begins with a tight crop of a landmark photo. Holding the button zooms the picture out and reveals more of the scene, but the clock keeps running, so you have to decide when you have seen enough. Then you drop a pin on the world map where you think the photo was taken.
The score rewards both accuracy and speed: the closer your pin and the quicker you commit, the more points you get. A day's board has five landmarks and is the same for every player, so results can be compared and shared. GuessDash renews its daily boards by the date in the Netherlands, and the game is free with an optional account.
It suits players who like GeoGuessr-style location guessing but want something short, with a twist about how much of the picture to reveal.
How to play Pinoculars (GuessDash)
- Open Pinoculars and start today's board of five landmarks.
- Hold to zoom the photo out and reveal more of the scene.
- Let go when you recognise the place and pin its location on the world map.
- Score for how close and how fast you were, then move on to the next landmark.
Tips
- Look for clues in architecture, signs, vegetation and sky before zooming out further.
- Commit early on landmarks you know well to bank the speed bonus.
- When unsure, pin the most likely region rather than a random spot; distance still earns points.
- Famous landmarks can look unfamiliar close up, so watch the shapes as they widen.
