Number Salad is a free daily arithmetic puzzle from Bleppo, the makers of Word Salad. Each day's board is a shape of tiles marked with operations such as +5 or x10, and you swipe paths through them to reach five target numbers. The puzzles start gentle on Monday and get tougher through the week.
About Number Salad
Number Salad came out in November 2024 from Bleppo, the studio behind the daily word game Word Salad, and borrows its swipe-to-solve idea. It plays on iPhone and iPad and in the browser.
Every daily puzzle has a number, a title and a new board shape, and shows its author. The board is made of tiles carrying operations such as +5, x2 or -4. Below it sit five target numbers. You swipe a path through neighbouring tiles, and the operations apply in the order you pass them; when the result matches the target, that line locks and you move to the next. The tricky part is choosing when to multiply, since the same tiles give very different totals depending on the order, and the tiles you use for one target shape what is left for the others.
The daily puzzle is easier on Monday and much tougher by the weekend. Beyond it, the app holds thousands of free extra puzzles at four levels, Trampoline, Pyramid, Oculus and Hourglass, all playable offline, and a hint system that points the way without giving the answer.
It suits players who like Word Salad or Nerdle and want a short daily workout in mental arithmetic.
How to play Number Salad
- Open the day's Number Salad and look at the five target numbers.
- Swipe a path through neighbouring tiles; each tile's operation applies in the order you pass it.
- When the total matches a target, that line is solved.
- Plan the order of multiplications and additions so you can reach all five targets.
- Finish all five to complete the daily, and come back for a harder one later in the week.

Tips
- Multiply early to make big numbers, then add small tiles to land exactly.
- Start with the largest target: it usually needs the multiplication tiles.
- Use a hint for a nudge rather than a full answer.
