Blitzed is a free daily mental math game from Mind Loft and the harder sibling of Blitz. Every one of its twenty problems has three numbers and two operations, like 5 + 10 x 2, so you always hold a second step in your head, with twenty seconds a problem and one life.

About Blitzed (Mind Loft)

Blitzed takes Mind Loft's Blitz ladder and adds a third number to every line. Problems such as 5 + 10 x 2 mean you have to apply the order of operations and keep an intermediate result in mind. The twenty lines climb through five rounds, from small chains and the times tables up to brackets, percentages of a number with something added, two-digit products and cubes.

You choose from four answers by tap or with keys 1 to 4, and each problem has a twenty-second clock. The decoys are real mistakes: the most common is doing the first operation and stopping, so that answer is often among the options, along with a dropped carry, an ignored bracket, a left-to-right reading or the neighbouring cube.

A wrong answer or an empty clock ends the run, and your score is how far you climbed. Everyone plays the same twenty problems in the same order, the furthest run tops the leaderboard and ties break on time. A new set arrives every day at midnight Eastern.

How to play Blitzed (Mind Loft)

  1. Open Blitzed and press Start; each problem has a 20-second clock.
  2. Work the line in your head, multiplying and dividing before you add or subtract.
  3. Pick one of the four answers by tapping it or pressing 1 to 4.
  4. Keep climbing until a miss or a timeout ends the run.

Tips

  • If one option equals the result of only the first operation, it is almost always a trap.
  • Do the multiplication or bracket first and say the partial result to yourself before adding.
  • Use the full twenty seconds on the cube and percentage rounds.
