MusicVidle
Name the song from stills of its music video, with a new frame after each miss.
Every day: One song a day, the same for everyone, to name from stills of its music video: you start with one image and get another after each skip or wrong guess, up to six. New puzzle: Midnight in your own time zone (the game's countdown runs to local midnight).

MusicVidle shows you a still from a music video and asks for the song. Each skip or wrong guess adds another frame, up to six, and you pick your answer from a list of artists and titles. A new video comes each day, with a streak and stats to share.
About MusicVidle
MusicVidle is a daily game by Maik Zehrfeld, who also curates creative music videos on his blog LangweileDich.net. He made it in 2022, inspired by Wordle and by Heardle, and the daily count starts from 27 April 2022. The twist is that you do not hear anything: you have to recognise the song from its video.
You begin with a single still. Search for the song by artist or title and pick it from the list, or skip if you have no idea. Each skip or wrong guess adds another frame from the video, up to six in total. You can zoom in on an image with the mouse or a finger and go back to earlier frames by tapping their numbers, which matters because a small detail, a logo, a costume or a location, often gives the answer away.
If a wrong guess shares a word with the right answer, the game tells you at least one word is correct, which can point you at the right artist or title. When the round ends you can watch the video, see your stats split by the frame you solved on, and share a result without spoilers. A countdown shows the time to the next Vidle at midnight on your clock.
The game is free and supported by donations from players. It suits people who grew up watching music television or who know their videos as well as their songs.
How to play MusicVidle
- Look at the first still from today's music video.
- Search for the song by artist or title and pick it, or skip if you have no clue.
- Each skip or wrong guess reveals another still, up to six; zoom in and revisit earlier frames by their numbers.
- Watch for the note that at least one word of your guess is correct.
- Name the song within six images, then watch the video and share your result.
Tips
- Zoom in: text on a sign, a band logo on a drum kit or a T-shirt can solve it outright.
- Think about the era from picture quality and styling before you guess; old videos look very different from recent ones.
- A wrong guess with at least one word correct often means the right artist, so try their other songs.
- Skip rather than guess at random when the first frame tells you nothing.
