Mini Golf is a free browser game from Dayplay Games. Each day it deals a Daily Nine, nine holes picked from its courses that every player gets the same, and you try to sink them in as few strokes as you can. A day streak and a daily leaderboard bring you back, and eight full courses wait when the daily round is done.

About Mini Golf

Mini Golf is a mini golf game that runs in the browser on a phone or a computer, published by Dayplay Games. It is free and needs no account: open the page and you can start putting.

The daily part is the Daily Nine. Each day at midnight UTC the game puts together nine holes from its courses, and everyone who plays that day gets the same nine in the same order. You play them through, your strokes are counted against par, and your total goes on a leaderboard for the day; a board for yesterday shows the final standings. Finishing the Daily Nine on consecutive days builds a streak.

The holes are drawn from eight nine-hole courses with their own look and obstacles: Rooftop Gardens, Harbor Lights, Canyon Bend, Pipeworks, Boardwalk, Frost Rink, Caldera and Tulip Mills. Expect doglegs, water pools, sliding barriers and tunnels that carry the ball from one hole in the green to another. Each course can also be played on its own at any time, so there is more to play after the daily round.

Shots work by dragging: press on the green, pull away from where you want the ball to go and let go. Water or out of bounds costs a stroke and puts the ball back where the shot started, and a hole ends at four over par so no round drags on. Besides solo play there is a mode against the computer at a chosen difficulty and an online duel you can play with a friend.

It suits anyone who wants a short, calm game of skill each day rather than a word or number puzzle, and players who like to compare one score with everyone else.

How to play Mini Golf

  1. Open the game and choose the Daily Nine to play today's nine holes.
  2. Press on the green and drag away from the direction you want the ball to travel; the arrow shows the aim and grows with the power.
  3. Let go to shoot, or drag back to the marked circle to cancel the shot.
  4. Avoid water and the edge of the course: either costs a stroke and returns the ball to where it was.
  5. Sink all nine holes, then check your total against par and the day's leaderboard, and copy your scorecard to share it.

Tips

  • Drag only as far as you need: a soft shot that stops near the hole is better than a hard one that bounces off the far wall.
  • Look for the tunnels marked on the green; dropping into one can carry the ball past a long dogleg.
  • On a keyboard, the arrow keys set aim and power more finely than a mouse, and Space shoots.
  • A hole stops at four over par, so after a bad start play for the next hole rather than chasing a long shot.

Questions

When does the Daily Nine change?

At midnight UTC. The game counts the day by UTC, so every player gets the same nine holes whatever their time zone.

Do I need an account?

No. The Daily Nine and the courses play without signing up. You can choose a username for the leaderboards or play anonymously.

Can I keep playing after the daily round?

Yes. Eight nine-hole courses can be played at any time, you can practise any hole, and there are modes against the computer and against a friend online.
