Mercatle Daily round 1 of 6: an overhead satellite view of a city park and river above a 3D globe

Mercatle shows you six real places a day from above, with no labels or street names. You tap a 3D globe where you think each one is, scoring more the closer you land, then a trivia question about the place can double that round. Scores go on a global leaderboard.

About Mercatle: Daily Geography Game

Mercatle is a daily geography game for iPhone and iPad built on satellite imagery. Each round crops a tight view of a real place, such as a capital city, a stadium, an island, an airport or a natural wonder, with every label removed.

It is made by TiddlyTech and came to the App Store in 2026.

The Daily has six rounds. You study the picture, then tap once on a spinning globe to drop your guess; a line races from your pin to the true spot, and points fall off with distance, up to 1,000 per round. Zooming the satellite view out gives a hint but lowers that round's maximum. A trivia question about the place follows, and a right answer doubles the round, so the best possible day is 12,000 points. Streaks, stats and badges track your progress, and the leaderboard compares your total with other players.

The daily game is free. A Pro subscription adds themed categories such as racing circuits, bridges, dams and theme parks, a 30-day archive, private groups, regional leaderboards and difficulty settings. It suits map fans who like reading landscapes and city layouts more than flags or outlines.

Tips

  • Look at roads, rooftops and vegetation: building styles and driving layouts narrow the region quickly.
  • Only zoom out if you are truly stuck, since it cuts the most you can score.
  • The trivia doubles your distance score, so a close pin matters before the question.
