Mathle
A Wordle for sums: find the day's hidden addition or subtraction in five tries.
Every day: One numbered hidden equation per day (Mathle 1712 on 2 October 2026), a two-digit addition or subtraction of the form a + b = c or a - b = c, the same for every player. New puzzle: At local midnight; a countdown shows the time to the next Mathle.

Mathle is a daily equation-guessing game by Kiru. You have five tries to find a hidden addition or subtraction, every guess must itself be a valid equation, and coloured tiles show which digits and signs are in the right place.
About Mathle
Mathle is a small daily number puzzle made by Kiru, who says it is heavily inspired by Wordle and Primel. It has been online since early 2022 and is available in several languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese and Chinese.
Each day there is one numbered puzzle, the same for everyone: a hidden equation of the form a + b = c or a - b = c, where c is positive. You type a full equation on the keypad as your guess, and it must be mathematically correct. Green marks a digit or sign in the correct position, yellow a digit that is in the solution but in another spot, and grey a digit that does not appear at all. A colourblind mode switches to other colours.
You have five tries. After the round you can copy a grid of coloured squares to share, and a countdown shows when the next Mathle is published.
It suits players who like Wordle but would rather reason with digits than letters.
How to play Mathle
- Open mathlegame.com and read the short explanation.
- Enter a valid equation such as 40 + 19 = 59 using the keypad.
- Use the colours: green is the right digit or sign in the right place, yellow is in the equation elsewhere, grey is not in it.
- Find the exact equation within five tries, then share your result.
Tips
- Your first guess should use as many different digits as possible.
- Check the sign early: knowing whether it is plus or minus narrows the result a lot.
- Every guess must add up, so use the arithmetic to rule out digit positions.
