Cagey
Fill the cages so each one hits its target with +, ×, − or ÷.
Every day: One numbered Daily puzzle a day, built from a seed of the UTC date so everyone gets the same grid, with the difficulty rotating through Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert, plus a daily leaderboard. New puzzle: Midnight UTC; the daily seed and number come from the UTC date (puzzle 1 was 1 April 2026).

Cagey is a free daily math puzzle in the KenKen family. Each cage has a target and an operation, and you fill its cells with numbers that make the target. The daily puzzle is the same for everyone and is ranked on a leaderboard, while free-play grids come in four difficulties.
About Cagey
Cagey is a cage puzzle played in the browser in English, Korean, Japanese, German, Spanish and Portuguese. The grid is split into outlined cages, each with a target number and an operation: add, multiply, subtract or divide. You fill each cage with numbers that combine to make its target.
The rules grow with the difficulty. On Easy you only have to make the cages work, with no row or column rules. On Medium a number cannot repeat within a row. On Hard and Expert it cannot repeat in a row or a column, which makes it a full KenKen-style grid. The Daily puzzle takes one of these levels in turn, so the challenge changes from day to day.
The daily grid is generated from the date in UTC, so every player solves the same one, and solve times go onto a daily leaderboard with weekly, monthly and all-time tables beside it. A timer, a streak counter, undo and three hints help along the way, and a share card turns your result into a grid of coloured squares. Outside the daily, you can play unlimited puzzles at any level, and a Challenge mode limits the numbers you can place.
How to play Cagey
- Choose Daily for the shared puzzle, or a level for free play.
- Read each cage's target and operation in its top corner.
- Enter numbers so each cage combines to its target.
- On Medium and above, avoid repeating a number in a row; on Hard and Expert, in a column too.
- Fill every cell to solve, then save your time to the leaderboard or share it.
Tips
- Start with single-cell cages and small multiplication targets, which allow only a few combinations.
- Hints are limited to three, so save them for the end.
