SudokuWiki's Daily KenKen is a numbered 6x6 KenKen posted every day, where coloured cages give a target and an operation. The grade moves through four levels over the week, and the last 30 puzzles stay in a calendar. Playing it needs a SudokuWiki supporter login.
About The Daily KenKen (SudokuWiki)
The Daily KenKen is one of the daily puzzles on SudokuWiki.org, Andrew Stuart's long-running site about sudoku strategy and solvers. Each day brings one numbered 6x6 grid; the puzzle shown on 3 October 2026 was No.3033, graded Moderate.
The rules are those of KenKen: put 1 to 6 in every row and column once each, and make the numbers in every coloured cage reach the cage's clue. Unlike a killer sudoku, where cages only add up, a KenKen clue can ask for a sum, a difference, a product or a quotient, so a cage marked 24× and one marked 3÷ need quite different thinking.
There are four grades spread over the week, from Gentle to Diabolical, and a calendar below the board lists the last 30 days so missed puzzles can still be played. If you get stuck, each day's grid can be sent to the site's 6x6 KenKen solver, which explains the steps.
KenKen on SudokuWiki is a supporters' feature: the board shows to everyone, but playing it asks you to sign in with a supporter membership, taken through Buy Me A Coffee (from £4 a month at the time of writing). It suits players who already do the site's free daily sudoku, killer and kakuro and want an arithmetic grid alongside them.
How to play The Daily KenKen (SudokuWiki)
- Open The Daily KenKen on SudokuWiki and sign in with your supporter account.
- Click a square and type a digit from 1 to 6, or use the number pad beside the grid.
- Keep each row and column free of repeated digits.
- Make the digits in every coloured cage reach its clue with the operation shown (+, −, × or ÷).
- Use Notes for pencil marks and Check to test your grid, and pick an earlier day from the 30-day calendar to catch up.
Tips
- Start with single-cell cages and with ÷ and − cages, which only fit a few pairs of digits.
- Large × clues such as 24× or 48× in a 6x6 grid narrow down fast: factor them first.
- A 6x6 row adds up to 21, so the cages lying inside one row tell you what the rest must sum to.
