Cages (Mind Loft)
A daily killer sudoku that starts with no digits, only cage sums.
Every day: One killer sudoku a day, the same grid for every player, starting empty with only cage totals as clues, with a streak and a daily leaderboard. New puzzle: Midnight US Eastern Time.

Cages is a free daily killer sudoku from Mind Loft. The 9x9 grid starts empty and is split into dashed cages, each showing the total of its digits; fill it so every row, column and box holds 1 to 9 once and no digit repeats in a cage.
About Cages (Mind Loft)
Cages is the killer sudoku in Mind Loft's sudoku set. No digits are printed at the start. Instead the 81 squares are divided into dashed, coloured cages, each labelled with the sum of the digits inside it, and digits may not repeat within a cage. The usual sudoku rules still apply: every row, column and 3x3 box holds 1 through 9 exactly once.
Each puzzle has a single solution that can be reached by logic, without guessing. You can tap a square and then a digit, or pick a digit and tap squares; Notes mode pencils in candidates, and on a desktop the arrow keys and number row work. There is also Undo, Erase, Clear, an auto-move option and a hint button. Wrong entries are not flagged, so catching your own mistakes is part of the solve, and a clean solve earns a perfect score.
A new grid arrives every day at midnight Eastern, and Sundays bring a harder edition with fewer, bigger cages. Mind Loft's sudoku set also includes Suds (classic), Quilt (jigsaw), Sando (sandwich), Knight, Diag, Frame and others.
How to play Cages (Mind Loft)
- Open Cages and press Start.
- Read the cage totals; small cages with extreme sums (such as 3 in two squares) have only one combination.
- Tap a square and a digit to fill it, or switch Notes on to pencil in candidates.
- Fill the grid so every row, column, box and cage obeys the rules.

Tips
- Learn the fixed combinations: two squares summing to 3 must be 1 and 2, to 17 must be 8 and 9.
- Each row, column and box adds up to 45, so subtracting cage totals inside a box can reveal a single square.
- Notes help a lot, because killer cages often allow a short list of digits rather than one.

Is Cages free?
Yes. Cages plays in the browser on Mind Loft with no app and no account. Signing up with a display name (no password) puts your result on the daily leaderboard; an email is optional.
Can I play earlier Cages puzzles?

Are there any starting digits in Cages?
No. The grid starts empty; the cage totals are the only clues.
