Tipscale (Dayzle)
Rate itRead the day's balance scales and work out the secret weight of every shape, in as few tries as you can.
Every day: One set of scales a day, the same for every player: three to five shapes whose secret weights from 1 to 9 you deduce from up to five balanced or tipped scales, then guess in six tries. Monday is the easiest, tipped scales start on Wednesday, and from Friday no scale gives a weight on its own. New puzzle: Midnight, local time.

Tipscale is a daily logic puzzle from Dayzle set on old apothecary scales. Each shape has a secret whole weight from 1 to 9; you read which scales balance and which tip, work out every weight, and enter your answer in up to six tries.
About Tipscale (Dayzle)
Tipscale is one of the daily games on Dayzle, a site of original puzzles by TLL Studios. Each day it shows a row of brass scales with coloured shapes on their pans: triangles, squares, stars, diamonds and circles. Every shape hides a whole weight from 1 to 9. The same shape always weighs the same, but two different shapes can share a weight.
A scale marked = holds the same total weight on both pans, and the shapes on a pan add up, so a triangle balancing three circles weighs three times a circle. No weight is ever given outright. You swap shapes between scales and lean on the 1 to 9 limit: if a square balances six circles, each circle can only weigh 1. From Wednesday some scales tip, and the lower pan is the heavier one.
When you think you have it, you type a weight under every shape and press Weigh. Each shape answers right, heavier or lighter than your number, right weights stay in place, and you have six tries. Your score is the number of tries you needed, with a badge for getting it in one. While you type, the totals appear under the pans and each scale turns green or red depending on whether your numbers fit it.
The week has a shape of its own. Monday has three shapes and two scales; later days have up to five of each, and from Friday to Sunday no single scale settles a weight by itself. Everyone gets the same scales, the new puzzle arrives at local midnight, and past editions can be played from the archive without touching your streak.
How to play Tipscale (Dayzle)
- Open Tipscale on dayzle.app and look at the day's scales: = means both pans weigh the same, and a tipped scale's lower pan is heavier.
- Work out each shape's weight from 1 to 9 by swapping shapes between scales and using the limits.
- Tap a shape, then a number on the keypad, until every shape has a weight, and press Weigh.
- Read the answers: a tick for right, an up arrow for heavier and a down arrow for lighter, then adjust and weigh again.
- Find all the weights within six tries and share your row of squares and arrows, which never shows the weights.

Tips
- Replace a shape with what it balances on another scale: if a triangle equals three circles and a square equals two triangles, the square equals six circles.
- Use the 1 to 9 limit as a clue: four circles balancing one triangle means a circle weighs 1 or 2.
- Check the scales before pressing Weigh: once every shape on a scale has a number, it turns red if your numbers do not fit.
- Watch the range shown under each shape, which narrows after every answer.
