Location Guesser is a daily geography game on TOI Games, the Times of India's puzzle section. You watch a short clip of a place, open the map and drop a pin where you think it is. You have a few guesses, the best one counts, and the closer you are the more of the 1000 points you get.

About Location Guesser (Times of India)

Location Guesser is one of the daily games on the Times of India website. Instead of a still photo or a street view, each day's puzzle is a short video clip of a single location, often a landmark, a landscape or a street scene.

You watch the clip, rewinding or restarting it if you need another look, and pick out clues such as buildings, scenery, signs or what people are wearing. Then you open the interactive map, search or pan to the place you have in mind and drop a pin.

Scoring is based on distance: the closer the pin is to the real spot, the higher the score, up to 1000 points. You get three guesses per video, counted on the Take a Guess button, and only your best one counts. Logged-in players can also go back to earlier games and keep a streak.

The daily location is the same for everyone. It suits travel fans and players who enjoy picking out small visual clues.

How to play Location Guesser (Times of India)

  1. Open today's Location Guesser and press Start Game.
  2. Watch the video clip, replaying or rewinding it as needed.
  3. Open the map, search or move to the place you think it shows, and drop a pin.
  4. Use your remaining guesses, three in all, to get closer; only your best guess counts.

Tips

  • Pause on signs, number plates and shop fronts; the language and script narrow things down fast.
  • Use the map search to jump to a city, then zoom in to refine your pin.
  • Use your first guess to test a region, then move the pin based on your score.
