Humppadle
Hear an Eläkeläiset humppa cover and name the original song.
Every day: One dated puzzle a day: a clip of a humppa cover by the Finnish band Eläkeläiset, and you name the original song, with a longer clip unlocked after each miss. New puzzle: Once a day; the site does not state the time.

Humppadle is a daily song guessing game built on the covers of Eläkeläiset, the Finnish band that turns rock and pop hits into humppa, a fast dance music. You hear a short clip of the day's cover and guess the song it is based on; each miss unlocks a longer clip. A leaderboard, a par score and an archive of past days come with it.
About Humppadle
Eläkeläiset are a Finnish band who play other people's songs as humppa, a quick dance style. Their covers keep the melody of the original but change the arrangement around it. Humppadle turns that into a daily puzzle: each day it picks one of their covers, and your job is to recognise the song underneath.
The clip starts very short, about a second of the cover, played from a Deezer preview. You type the original song and submit, or skip. Every miss or skip unlocks a longer part of the clip, up to 30 seconds. The page also shows the year the original came out, which helps narrow down the decade before you hear much.
Each puzzle is dated, and the page shows a par score for the day along with the number of players who have solved it. A leaderboard ranks players. The History page lists every past day back to January 2026, so you can play the ones you missed.
The original songs come from a wide range: rock classics, pop hits, disco and more. Knowing humppa helps less than knowing the originals: the trick is to hear a familiar tune through a very different arrangement.
How to play Humppadle
- Open Humppadle and play the first short snippet of the day's Eläkeläiset cover.
- Type the title of the original song you think it covers and submit, or skip to hear more.
- Each miss or skip unlocks a longer clip, up to 30 seconds; use the original year shown as a hint.
- Solve it in as few tries as you can and compare with the day's par and the leaderboard.
Tips
- Ignore the arrangement and listen for the melody line: that is what survives from the original.
- Use the original year to think of the big hits of that period before you guess.
- Hum the riff over a slower beat in your head; humppa speeds songs up a lot.
- Play older days from the History page to get used to how the band rearranges songs.
