Pinpoint (Hemiscope)
Place the day's country on five scales, from population to area.
Every day: One country a day, the same for everyone: place it on five statistical scales, each running between two well-known countries. New puzzle: Midnight (Hemiscope says a new puzzle lands every midnight).

Pinpoint gives you one country a day and five statistics, such as life expectancy, average height, corruption score or area. Each scale runs from a country at the low end to one at the high end, and you drag a marker to where you think today's country falls, then lock it in.
About Pinpoint (Hemiscope)
Pinpoint is Hemiscope's statistics game. Each numbered daily names one country, such as the Dominican Republic, and shows five sliders. Every slider is a real statistic with a well-known country at each end and the world median marked: area runs from Monaco to Russia, life expectancy from Nigeria to Monaco, and so on.
You drag each marker to where you think today's country sits and lock in your answers, then see the real values. Statistics can include population, area, life expectancy, average height, obesity rate, corruption score and military spending, in metric or imperial units. The data comes from public sources and is refreshed daily.
It is one of the daily games on Hemiscope, a free collection of short geography, history, logic and ranking puzzles that also includes Timeline, Vault, Ladder and Flip. Each game gets a new puzzle every midnight. You can play in the browser or in the free iPhone app, which adds live duels against friends, an endless Survival mode and explorers to collect with stars earned from the puzzles.
It suits players of HeatMapQuest and Le Bon Rang who enjoy country statistics and like to estimate rather than name.
