CrossMapQuest
Name a country that fits two criteria at once, five rounds a day.
Every day: Five rounds a day, the same for everyone: in each, find a country that matches two criteria at once, such as a population and an area. New puzzle: Midnight UTC (the daily game is keyed to the UTC date).

CrossMapQuest is a daily geography cross puzzle. Each of its five rounds crosses two country statistics, such as population, area, borders, GDP per capita or rainfall, and you name a country that satisfies both. Past days are in an archive, and a weekly Survival mode tests how long you can last.
About CrossMapQuest
CrossMapQuest belongs to a family of daily quiz games that also includes HistoriaQuest, TerraeQuest and HeatmapQuest. Its daily puzzle has five rounds, and each round sets two criteria about countries side by side. Your job is to find a country that matches both.
The criteria come from public statistics: population, area, number of borders, population density, GDP per capita, highest point, urbanisation, CO2 per person, rainfall, temperature, forest cover, internet speed, Nobel Prizes and more. The data comes from the World Bank, the UN, Wikipedia and similar sources, and the site warns that some values are approximate.
The game keeps scores, streaks and experience levels, and an optional account syncs them across devices. You can play past days in archive mode, set up leagues with friends, family or colleagues, and try Survival, a weekly challenge with a timer and lives that resets every Wednesday.
It suits players of GeoGrid and Capital Control who like matching countries to two conditions, and anyone who enjoys country statistics.
How to play CrossMapQuest
- Open crossmapquest.com and start the daily puzzle.
- Read the two criteria for the first round.
- Name a country that satisfies both.
- See whether you were right and move on to the next round.
- Finish all five rounds and compare your score.
Tips
- Start from the stricter criterion: few countries have very high density or many Nobel Prizes.
- Small island states and microstates often fit extreme criteria.
- Use the archive to learn the kinds of statistics that come up.
