Hardhat Wombat is a puzzle platformer from All Yes Good, the studio of Plants vs. Zombies creator George Fan. A construction-worker wombat stacks cube-shaped poo to match blueprints across 92 levels, and after the main game a Daily Gauntlet lets you compete against other players each day.
About Hardhat Wombat
Hardhat Wombat came out on Steam in October 2023. You play a wombat on a building site who, like real wombats, produces cube-shaped droppings, and uses them as building blocks: jump, place cubes and climb to recreate each level's target structure. Seven worlds each add their own material, such as vines made of broccoli or gum bubbles that float upward, and some levels add dynamite puzzles or action-packed beetle hunts.
Beating the main game unlocks extra modes. The Gauntlet strings together a run of levels against the clock, and the Daily Gauntlet is its daily form, in which you compete against other players for the top of the leaderboard. The game supports Steam leaderboards and achievements, and game design and soundtrack are by George Fan.
It suits fans of physics-free block puzzles and platformers with a sense of humour, and speed-minded players who want a daily target after finishing the campaign.
How to play Hardhat Wombat
- Finish the main game to unlock the Gauntlet modes.
- Start the Daily Gauntlet from the mode menu.
- For each level, place and stack cubes to build the target structure shown in the blueprint.
- Clear the run as fast as you can to place on the daily leaderboard.
