A Halvsies Daily round: a purple two-lobed shape cut by a line into 52.2 and 47.8 per cent, scored +96

Halvsies is a precision puzzle for iPhone and Android: one shape, one straight cut, and a score for how close the two halves come to equal area. The Daily gives everyone the same five shapes each morning, with one attempt at each.

About Halvsies

Each round of Halvsies shows a single shape, a blob, a key, a pair of joined islands, and asks you to drag a straight line through it. The pieces part, each labelled with its share of the area, and the closer they are to 50 and 50, the higher you score. A perfect split is marked Flawless and earns 100 points; a near miss shows how far you were from it.

The Daily is five shapes with one attempt each, the same five for everyone on Earth, drawn fresh each morning. It is always free and never costs a blade. A running score sits in the corner as you go.

Outside the Daily is the Path, a trail of seeded levels that every player gets in the same order, climbing from rounded shapes to thorny concave ones as the target tightens. A Path attempt borrows a blade; pass and you keep it, fail and it breaks, and broken blades mend over time. Coins earned along the Path buy cosmetic inks for your shapes or blade credits.

Halvsies is made by Most Perfect Sip and came out in June 2026, with a warm paper and dark ink look. It is free; optional purchases exist, rewarded ads play only when you choose them, and signing in is needed only to keep coins across devices or to buy them.

How to play Halvsies

  1. Open Halvsies and start The Daily.
  2. Look at the shape and judge where a straight line would split its area evenly.
  3. Drag your cut across the shape and let go; you get one attempt.
  4. Read the two area percentages and your score, then move to the next shape.
  5. Finish all five shapes for your day's total.

Tips

  • For shapes with a heavy end, the cut sits closer to the heavy part than it looks.
  • Thin arms and stems carry little area; do not let them pull your line toward them.
  • Turning the angle changes the split as much as moving the line, so try both in your head first.
  • Use the Path to practise reading concave shapes before the Daily's single attempts.
