Halfwits
Rate itGuess the day's statistic, then have your answer averaged with a teammate's.
Every day: One numbered statistic to estimate each day, the same for everyone, with your guess averaged with a teammate's into one score out of 100. New puzzle: Once a day.

Halfwits is a daily estimation game with a twist: you are only half of a team. Each numbered puzzle asks one statistic, such as how many people in the UK have never used the internet, and your guess is averaged with a friend's or a random player's into one answer, scored out of 100.
About Halfwits
Halfwits asks a single number question each day under a theme title, and you lock in your estimate. The twist is that your answer does not stand alone: it is averaged with another player's guess, and the averaged answer is what gets scored, out of 100, by how close it lands to the real figure.
After locking in, you choose who to pair with. Pick friends by name to compare and combine scores, or take random players if none of your friends have played yet. A wildly high guess paired with a careful one can still come out close, so part of the fun is seeing which partnership worked best.
Each puzzle is numbered and dated, with an archive of earlier days. You get a random name to start with and can change it. It suits groups of friends who like comparing gut feelings about numbers.

Tips
- Think about the order of magnitude first: thousands or millions matters more than the last digit.
- If you know your teammate guesses high, you can play it safe and let the average balance out.
- Use the archive to calibrate on earlier questions.
