Flyover (FlightQ)
Rate itName the country from the view out of a plane window.
Every day: One real place a day, the same for everyone in the world: an unlabelled map patch seen through an airplane window, with six views, each wrong guess pulling the window back to show three times the ground. New puzzle: Once a day (one new patch every day).

Flyover shows a small patch of the world through an airplane window, drawn in a clean atlas style with every label removed, and asks which country it is in. Each wrong guess makes the plane climb, so the window shows more of the map, and an arrow points from your guess toward the answer. You have six views.
About Flyover (FlightQ)
Flyover is a FlightQ daily where the clue is the view from your seat. The first window is a tight close-up drawn from OpenStreetMap data: coastlines, rivers, lakes, islands, roads and borders, but no names. Study the shape of the land, then type a country; common aliases such as USA, UK, UAE, Holland and Burma all work.
Each wrong guess shows an arrow from the country you guessed toward the hidden patch, giving direction but never distance, and the plane climbs: every miss triples the ground you can see. A ring at the centre of the window marks the exact point that decides the answer, which matters near borders. Your score is the view you solved it on, so naming it at the first window is a perfect run.
There is one new patch every day and everyone gets the same one. The game comes from the team behind Strata, Mapfold and SkyQ and is free with ads, in the browser and in the FlightQ apps.
How to play Flyover (FlightQ)
- Open Flyover on flightq.app and study the close-up view in the window.
- Type a country and press Guess.
- After a miss, follow the arrow from your guess toward the answer.
- Each miss widens the view, showing three times as much ground.
- Name the country within six views; the fewer views you need, the better.
Tips
- Look for strong signatures early: fjords, glaciers, river deltas and island chains.
- Use the arrow from a central country to narrow the world to a line, then use the map to judge how far along it.
- Check the ring at the centre: near a border, the answer is the country under it.
- Dense road grids and big cities point to well-mapped, populous regions.
