Flagdle is a daily flag and country game. Its Flags mode hides the day's flag behind nine tiles and gives you three tries to name the country. Its Daily Challenge takes one mystery country through nine short rounds, from flag and outline to coat of arms, capital, currency and land area, and scores you on a leaderboard.

About Flagdle

Flagdle is a browser geography game in English and French. Every mode has a daily puzzle shared by all players, picked by the date, and the day turns over at midnight in your own time zone.

The Flags mode is the one the name comes from. The day's flag sits behind a grid of nine tiles with a few uncovered. Type a country: if you are right you win, and if not more tiles open, up to three tries in all. The Daily Challenge, the site's main mode, picks one mystery country and runs it through nine chained mini-games: the flag, the country's shape, its coat of arms, its capital, a neighbour's flag, population and currency, GDP per capita, official languages and land area. Each round scores by the attempts you used, and the total goes on daily, weekly and monthly leaderboards. A run takes about five minutes.

The other modes are smaller dailies: Capitals asks for the capital of a shown country in three tries with continent and first-letter hints, Hints reveals a country through clues over six tries, Worldle is a silhouette game with distance and direction, and the Themed Quiz has ten questions. After the daily flag you can replay with random flags for practice.

It covers the 195 UN-recognised countries, needs no account, and keeps stats in your browser. The site says it has no intrusive ads. Despite the similar name, it is a separate game from Flagle.

How to play Flagdle

  1. Open Flagdle and choose Flags or the Daily Challenge.
  2. In Flags, study the uncovered tiles of the day's flag and type a country name.
  3. A wrong guess opens more tiles; you have three tries.
  4. In the Daily Challenge, play the nine mini-games about the same mystery country in order.
  5. Each round scores by the attempts you used; compare your total on the leaderboard.

Tips

  • In the Daily Challenge every round is about the same country, so an early answer helps all the rest.
  • Settle the continent in the first round; it narrows every later one.
  • On the coat of arms round, look for regional animals and symbols.
  • For the neighbour's flag round, remember an island nation has no land neighbours.
