Double Up board with score, undo count and the next blocks 2 and 8, behind a Place Blocks tutorial panel

Double Up is a daily number game from Ponder Club. Numbers fall into a four-column board; when two equal numbers touch they merge and double, and chains of merges score big. Everyone gets the same daily sequence, so scores are comparable on the leaderboard.

About Double Up

Double Up is one of the free daily games on Ponder Club, a puzzle site made by Calli and Eden at Flying Comet Games. It mixes the merging of 2048 with the dropping of a falling-block game.

You tap a column (or press A, S, D or F on a keyboard) to drop the next number, which falls to the lowest empty space. When it lands next to an equal number, the two merge into one block of double the value, and that new block can merge again, so a single drop can set off a cascade. You can see the next block coming, and a few undos and clears help when the board gets tight. The game ends when there is no room left.

Everyone plays the same daily board, so you can compare your score with friends and on the leaderboard. Earlier days are in the archive. The daily resets at midnight Pacific Time, and the site is free with ads, with an option to go ad-free.

It suits fans of 2048 and Threes who want a fixed daily challenge to measure themselves against.

How to play Double Up

  1. Open Double Up on Ponder Club.
  2. Tap a column (or press A, S, D, F) to drop the next number into it.
  3. When equal numbers touch they merge and double; plan drops that set off chains.
  4. Keep the board from filling up for as long as you can, then compare your score.

Tips

  • Check the upcoming block before each drop.
  • Keep large numbers in one corner column so small ones have room to merge.
  • Save your undos for moves that would end the game.
