Cartogle's unlabelled world map asking for the first of five countries, with the timer and points bar

Cartogle names a country and gives you a few seconds to click it on a blank world map. There are five countries a day, and you score more for being quick and close. A daily leaderboard ranks everyone who played the same five.

About Cartogle

Cartogle is a daily map game. The world map has country borders drawn in but no names, and a bar at the top names the country to find, with a counter of how many you have done out of five and a timer ticking down.

You click where you think the country is. The game rewards both speed and accuracy, so a quick click on the right spot scores best, and the points add up across the five rounds. When you finish, a panel shows your result and the time until the next game.

Everyone plays the same five countries each day, and a Daily Leaders board ranks the day's scores in normal and hard modes. Settings include a satellite view and a colour-blind option, and a free account saves your scores and streak across devices.

It suits anyone who wants to learn the world map one quick round at a time, from obvious large countries to small ones that are easy to misplace.

How to play Cartogle

  1. Open Cartogle and press Play.
  2. Read the country named at the top of the screen.
  3. Click its location on the unlabelled map before the timer runs out.
  4. Repeat for all five countries; faster and closer clicks score more points.
  5. Compare your total with the Daily Leaders board.

Tips

  • Zoom in before you click on small countries in Europe, Central America or the Caribbean.
  • Use neighbouring countries you know as anchors and count borders from them.
  • Speed matters, so click as soon as you are sure rather than hovering.
