What's the Area?
Rate itDrag one dot so every slice of the shape has the same area, three shapes a day.
Every day: Three shapes a day, the same for every player, each cut into slices by spokes from one dot: one shot each to make the slices equal, scored out of 300. New puzzle: Midnight India Standard Time (18:30 UTC).

What's the Area? is a daily test of your eye for area. Each shape is cut into slices by spokes that meet at a pink dot, and you drag the dot to the spot where every slice is the same size. You get one shot at each of the day's three shapes, scored out of 100 each.
About What's the Area?
What's the Area? gives every player the same three shapes each day. Each one, a circle or an irregular four-sided shape for example, is divided into coloured slices by lines that run from its edge to a single pink dot. Move the dot and the slices grow and shrink; the aim is the point where all of them have equal area.
There is no feedback while you drag. You press Submit when you trust your eye, and only then see how close you came, scored out of 100. The day's score is the three added together, out of 300. The game's own tip is the key to it: equal slices are not equal angles, and the two are not the same point.
The days are numbered from September 2026 and turn over at midnight India time. A public leaderboard ranks today's scores and every day you have played, under a name you choose, with no account; stats stay in your browser. A Challenge mode keeps sending harder shapes for as long as your last three rounds stay above a set total.
It suits players who enjoy one-shot eye tests such as finding a centre of mass or cutting a shape in half, and want a puzzle that takes a minute or two.

Tips
- Think about area, not angles: where slices meet at even angles is usually not the answer.
- Find the largest slice and move the dot towards it: that shrinks it and grows the slices on the other side.
- Compare opposite slices in pairs before you look at the whole shape.
- Take your time: there is no clock, only one submit per shape.
