Every day: A shared route of five 360 degree historical scenes each day, the same for every signed-in player, with daily highscores. New puzzle: Once a day; the site does not state the hour.

WenWare is a history and geography guessing game played in 360 degree panoramas. You look around a scene from the past, read the clues in its buildings, clothes and landscape, then drop a pin on the map and choose a year. The Daily mode gives every signed-in player the same five rounds.
About WenWare
WenWare drops you into a panorama from somewhere in history: a council between soldiers and Plains people on a snowy plain, a fleet of sailing warships at dusk. You can turn to look all around, and the answer is in the details: architecture, clothing, tools, vehicles, signs, art and weather.
Each round asks two things. You place a pin on the world map for where the moment happened, and you set the year on a sliding timeline. Submitting shows the real place and year, how far off you were in distance and in years, and a link to a reference article about the event. Points come from both answers, so a good pin with a poor year still leaves points behind, and five rounds make a game.
The Daily mode gives every signed-in player the same route of five scenes for the day, with its own highscores; signing up is free. Outside the daily you can play solo, pick a route from the archive by era, region or theme, play ranked 1v1 matches, challenge a friend or host a party of up to six. The Atlas lays all the scenes out on a map across time, and players can rate each panorama for historical accuracy. Paid plans and credit packs are only for generating new panoramas; playing is free.
WenWare was made by @underpaid_mom as an entry in Vibe Jam 2026, where it took third place and Bolt's Most Played award. It suits players of GeoGuessr and TimeGuessr who want scenes from before photography.
How to play WenWare
- Sign in and choose Daily from the game modes.
- Look around the 360 degree scene and study the buildings, clothing, tools and landscape.
- Open the map with Where? and place your pin where you think the scene is.
- Set the year on the When? timeline.
- Submit to see the real place and year, your errors and a source article, then play the next of five rounds.
Tips
- Clothing and weapons narrow the century quickly; architecture and landscape narrow the region.
- Look behind you: flags, ships, crops and signs are often out of the first view.
- Both answers count, so do not spend all your time on the pin and leave a careless year.
