HistoryGuesser
Look around a 360 degree scene from the past, then guess where and when it happened.
Every day: A Daily Challenge of five 360 degree historical scenes, the same five for everyone, scored on where and when each one took place and ranked on a daily board. New puzzle: Once a day; the site does not state the time.

HistoryGuesser drops you into a panorama of a real moment in history. You pin the place on a world map and slide to the year, and score by how close you get on both. Its Daily Challenge gives every player the same five scenes each day, with a streak and a daily leaderboard.
About HistoryGuesser
HistoryGuesser mixes the map guessing of GeoGuessr with the date guessing of photo games, using 360 degree scenes of real historical moments instead of flat pictures. You drag to look around and read the clues: buildings, clothes, vehicles, signs and technology.
The Daily Challenge is five scenes, the same set for everyone that day. For each one you drop a pin on the world map, scored by distance so the right region already earns points, and then pick a year anywhere from 3000 BC to today, scored by how near you are. Your total goes on the day's board against every other player, and playing each day builds a streak that resets if you miss one. Past days stay open.
Outside the daily game there are runs by country, by century and by theme (music, sport and cinema), community maps, all-time and weekly leaderboards, and a party mode and classroom tools for playing on a shared screen. It is free and needs no sign-up.
How to play HistoryGuesser
- Open today's challenge and drag the 360 degree scene to look around.
- Read the clues in the scene: architecture, clothing, transport and technology.
- Drop a pin on the world map where you think it happened.
- Slide the timeline to the year you think it shows, from 3000 BC to today.
- Repeat for all five scenes and compare your total on the daily board.
Tips
- Date the scene from technology first: lighting, cars, cameras and weapons narrow the decade fast.
- Writing on signs and shop fronts often gives away the country before the landscape does.
- A pin in the right region still scores well, so commit to a country rather than leaving the pin in the ocean between two guesses.
