Tiltanic is a free browser arcade game: a tiny boat rides a sea that sloshes like water in a tank, and you tilt your phone to lift or sink it through gaps between hanging anchors and floating mines. Everyone gets the same course of gates on the same date, so scores line up on a daily top 10. Try as often as you like and come back tomorrow for a new course.

About Tiltanic

Tiltanic is a small arcade game played in the browser at tiltanic.com, with no app and no sign-up. The sea behaves like water in a tank: tilting the phone pushes the water, and the boat rides whatever wave you make. Tilt the left edge down and the boat rises, tilt the right edge down and it sinks. On a computer the mouse, the arrow keys or A and D do the same, and a QR code beside the game opens the course on your phone.

The boat sails forward on its own and gates come toward it. Most gates have an anchor hanging from above and a sea mine floating up from below, and you steer through the gap. Each gate passed is a point, and a run ends the moment the boat touches either one. The gates narrow and close in until gate 40, and the sea itself changes as your score climbs, from the first change at 5 gates to a lava sea at 10 and the inside of a whale at 20.

The daily part is the course. Every date has its own sequence of gates, shared by everyone who plays that day, starting at midnight on your own clock. There are no lives and no timer: you can retry as often as you like, and your best run goes on today's leaderboard of the top 10 captains, where the server replays each run to check it. One finished try a day builds a streak, with a shield that covers a missed day after three in a row.

What sets it apart from other one-button daily runs is the water: every push you make comes back as a wave a second or two later, so the game rewards small, early moves over quick fixes. New players get a gentler warm-up sea with dots showing where the boat will ride; warm-up runs stay off the leaderboard. You can send a dare link so a friend races a ghost of your best run, and friends who play your dares form a crew with its own board.

The game is free and plays in English and a dozen other languages, including Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Polish, Japanese, Chinese, Hindi and Arabic. An optional pirate pack adds outfits and removes ads. It suits anyone who wants a quick daily skill game on the phone that takes a minute a try.

How to play Tiltanic

  1. Open tiltanic.com on your phone and tap "set sail"; on an iPhone or iPad, allow the page to use motion sensors.
  2. Hold the phone however is comfortable: the angle you hold it at when the run starts counts as level.
  3. Tilt the left edge down to lift the boat and the right edge down to lower it; 14 degrees each way is the full range.
  4. Steer through the gap in each gate, between the anchor above and the mine below, and score a point for each gate passed.
  5. When the boat hits an anchor or a mine the run ends; tap to try again on the same course as often as you like.
  6. Check today's leaderboard on the title screen to see the top 10 and where your best run stands.

Tips

  • Move early and move a little: the water keeps every push, and the boat needs time to rise or sink.
  • Do not correct a mistake with a big swing, since it only builds a bigger wave that comes back to you.
  • Read the hint shown before your next run, such as "too high: tilt right sooner", which names what sank you.
  • Lock screen rotation before playing: the game pauses when the screen turns.
  • No tilt sensor, or a browser that blocks it? Drag a finger sideways instead; dragging left lifts the boat.

Questions

When does the Tiltanic course change?

A new course starts at midnight on your own device clock, and everyone who plays on the same date gets the same gates.

How many tries do I get?

As many as you like. There are no lives and no timer, and your best run of the day counts on the leaderboard. One finished try a day is enough to keep your streak.

Can I play Tiltanic on a computer?

Yes. Move the mouse left or right over the game, or use the arrow keys or A and D. Left lifts the boat. Space or Enter sets sail and tries again.

Do I need an account or an app?

No. It runs in the browser, and the leaderboard gives you a random captain name that you can change.

Is Tiltanic free?

Yes. An optional purchase, the pirate pack, adds pirate outfits and a pirate boat and removes ads; it does not change how the boat sails.
