About Spelunky 2
Spelunky 2 is the 2020 sequel to Spelunky, made by Mossmouth with BlitWorks. You play a young explorer looking for treasure and missing family on the Moon, descending through caves that are rebuilt at random on every run. Traps, shopkeepers, animals and falling rocks all follow the same physical rules, so a run can end in a second from one careless jump, and every death sends you back to the start.
The Daily Challenge removes the randomness between players for one day. Every player in the world gets the same seed, so the same levels, items and dangers, and only one attempt at it. When you win or die the challenge locks until the next day. The leaderboard can be sorted by how deep players reached, how much money they collected or how quickly they finished.
Because there is no second try, the daily feels different from a normal run: you read each level carefully, weigh every risky shortcut, and later compare your route with others who faced the same caves. It suits players who already know Spelunky's rules and want a fair daily test of them.
How to play Spelunky 2
- From the camp, choose the Daily Challenge.
- Descend through the day's levels, collecting gold and items and avoiding traps and enemies.
- Use bombs and ropes to open routes and reach the exit of each level.
- Your run ends when you die or win; your result goes to the day's leaderboard.
- Come back after 00:00 UTC for the next seed.

Tips
- Treat the daily as a one-life run: skip risky shops and ghost-chasing unless you are sure of them.
- If you play for score, gold you leave behind costs places on the money leaderboard, so pick up what is safe to reach.
- Watch a top player's run of the same seed afterwards to learn routes you missed.
