About Caveblazers

Caveblazers is a roguelike platformer from Deadpan Games, published by Yogscast Games on Steam in May 2017. You play an adventurer heading down into a newly found cave said to hold great power. Every run generates new levels full of orcs, goblins and other monsters, with a large pool of weapons, potions and equipment to find, and a boss between each area. Death is permanent, potion effects are shuffled each run, and the game puts weight on close combat with fast, fluid fights.

The Daily Challenge Run is a separate mode. Each day the game generates one adventure that is the same for every player, with a fixed starting loadout and a set of traits that change how the run plays. You only get one chance at it, so the daily is about making the most of a single attempt rather than learning the layout. Results go on a Steam leaderboard.

The main game also has local co-op for two players, and challenges that unlock new items, weapons and perks. Caveblazers suits players who like roguelikes such as Spelunky and want a daily run where one careful attempt counts.

How to play Caveblazers

1. Start Caveblazers and choose the Daily Challenge Run from the menu.
2. Read the day's starting loadout and traits before you go in.
3. Fight down through the cave, picking up weapons, potions and items, and choose which to keep.
4. Beat the boss at the end of each area to go deeper.
5. When the run ends, check your place on the day's leaderboard. There is only one attempt per day.

Tips

• You get one try, so play the first floors carefully rather than fast.
• Potion effects change every run; test unknown potions when you are at full health.
• Practise in normal runs first to learn the bosses before you spend a daily attempt.
