Songdle
Hear a clip, then name the artist, the title and the year in one guess.
Every day: One mystery song a day, the same for everyone: you hear a short clip and get a single guess at its artist, title and release year, scored out of 30. The site's second daily, Albumdle, shows one blurred album cover a day to name in the same way. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.
Albumdle, the daily album cover modeStatt Land, Song leaderboard

Songdle is the daily song puzzle from the music quiz site Statt Land, Song. Each day you replay a short clip as often as you like, then make one guess at the artist, the title and the release year; near misses still earn part of the 10 points per field. The same site runs Albumdle, a daily blurred album cover to name.
About Songdle
Statt Land, Song is a music quiz site whose name plays on the German word game Stadt, Land, Fluss: instead of cities, countries and rivers, players race to name songs. Its main game is a timed quiz for solo play, private lobbies with friends and a global lobby. Songdle is its daily mode, with one song for the whole world each day.
A Songdle day is short. A clip of the song starts playing and you can replay it as often as you like. Then you fill in three fields: the artist, picked from suggestions, the song title, and the release year. You get one submission. Each field is worth up to 10 points, and the game is forgiving: a typo, part of a title or a year that is one or two off still earns some credit. After you submit you see the song, your score out of 30, your percentile against everyone who played that day and an emoji result to share. Arrows above the puzzle let you go back and play days you missed, and a streak counts your run of days.
Albumdle, marked as a beta, is the second daily. It shows a well known album cover with the artist name and title blurred out. You search for the artist and album and guess the year, again for up to 30 points in one try. If you are stuck you can play tracks from the album to reveal their titles, at a cost of one point each.
Most daily song games give you several tries with a longer clip each time. Songdle gives you the whole clip and only one try, so the challenge is pinning down all three facts, especially the year. It suits people who know their music history across decades, and anyone who wants a quick daily score to compare.
How to play Songdle
- Open Songdle and listen to the clip; replay it as often as you like.
- Type the artist and choose it from the suggestions, or skip the field.
- Enter the song title and your guess at the release year.
- Submit once to see the song, your score out of 30 and your percentile.
- Share your result, then try Albumdle for the day's album cover.
Tips
- Fill in every field even when unsure: a close year still earns most of its points.
- Listen for production style to place the year: drum sounds and vocal effects date a song quickly.
- Partial titles score, so enter the words of the chorus you recognise if the full title escapes you.
- In Albumdle, only play a track when the cover alone gives you nothing, since each one costs a point.
