Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope
Rate itFight Mental's hordes with your own hands in VR, with one shared arena challenge every day.
Every day: One Daily Challenge a day: an endless wave on the arena map of the day, with a new set of enemies that every player faces in exactly the same way, scored on a global leaderboard. New puzzle: Not stated; a new arena map and set of enemies each day.

Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope is a PC VR wave shooter from Croteam VR in which you stand in an arena and hold back hordes of aliens with a gun in each hand. Its Daily Challenge mode picks an arena map each day and sends the same enemies at every player, so scores on the global leaderboard compare like with like.
About Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope
Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope puts you in the boots of Sam Stone, the Earth Defense Force hero of Croteam's Serious Sam series, inside a simulation built from his old mission logs. It was developed by Croteam VR, published by Devolver Digital and Croteam, and left Early Access with its full release on 20 September 2017. It runs on Windows PCs with a SteamVR or Oculus PC headset and tracked hand controllers, and it is VR only.
You stand in place and fight the waves as they come: dual-wield miniguns, shotguns, lasers, a rocket launcher, a chainsaw or a sword and shield, sixteen weapons in all. The campaign crosses five planets and five bosses, starting with the Unholy Space Mummy of Gamma Pegasi, and you unlock 36 powerups and 190 weapon upgrades along the way. Any level can also be played with a second player in co-op.
The full release added three randomly generated modes. Arena throws random waves at you across 8 arenas with 4 waves and 20 difficulty settings. Endless Wave asks how long you can stay alive. The Daily Challenge is an endless wave on the arena map of the day, and each day a new set of enemies is served so that everyone playing that day meets the same fight. All three modes keep global leaderboards, so the daily one becomes a race against every other player on the same map and the same waves.
It suits players with a PC VR headset who want a short, loud fight each day with a score to beat, and who do not mind a lot of gore: the store marks it for frequent violence and mature content.

Tips
- Learn the Daily Challenge in Endless Wave first: it is the same kind of fight without a single day's score riding on it.
- Use the two hands for different jobs, such as a minigun for crowds and a rocket launcher or laser for the large enemies.
- Watch for incoming projectiles and lean or step out of their way; staying alive longer counts for more than a fast kill.
