Scapedle is a free daily word game that mixes Wordle with Old School RuneScape. The answer is a name from the game, often two words of different lengths, and you get five tries, letter colours, an emoji hint and the option to trade a guess for a text hint.
About Scapedle
Scapedle is a fan-made word game by AsbedB, a software developer who built it after friends asked how hard a RuneScape Wordle would be. It went live in 2026, is open source on GitHub, and has a Discord for players. Each day's answer is numbered, the same for everyone, and is chosen from the date when the site is rebuilt just after midnight Sydney time.
The answers come from Old School RuneScape: items, characters and quests. Unlike Wordle, they are not limited to five letters and can run to more than one word, so the board shows a block of tiles for each word; Word #279 had a five-letter and a six-letter word side by side. You type on the on-screen or real keyboard, and after each try every letter turns green if it is in the right place, orange if it is in the answer elsewhere, and grey if it is not there.
You have five tries. An emoji hint above the board is there from the start, and the Prompt Hint button gives a text clue at the cost of one guess. A Give Up button ends the round, and Share Results copies the numbered result as coloured squares. Under the board the site shows yesterday's answer.
It suits OSRS players who like Wordle and know the names of the game's gear and quests. It needs no account and runs in the browser on phones and computers.
How to play Scapedle
- Open scapedle.com and press Start Quest.
- Read the emoji hint and the number of tiles in each word.
- Type a guess that fills the tiles and press Enter.
- Read the colours: green is the right letter in the right place, orange is in the answer elsewhere, grey is not in it.
- If you are stuck, press Prompt Hint for a text clue, which costs one of your five tries.
- Solve it within five tries and press Share Results, or come back after the next day's reset.

- Count the tiles in each word first; word lengths alone rule out most items and quests.
- Read the emoji hint together with the tile counts: the emojis point at what the answer is or where it comes from.
- Save the Prompt Hint until you have used two guesses, since it costs a try.
