Rotate 2048 is a small puzzle by festiva1300, posted on itch.io in August 2026 and played on its own site. The board is a 4x4 grid of numbered discs. There are only two moves: turn the board left or turn it right. After each turn, gravity pulls the discs down, and two equal numbers that end up stacked merge into their sum, so two 2s become a 4 and two 1024s become 2048.

Your score is the number of rotations you used to reach 2048, and fewer is better. Every puzzle is randomly generated and checked to be solvable, and the game has worked out the minimum number of rotations for each one. When you finish, it shows that minimum so you can see whether you found the perfect route, and you can share your result on X or copy it.

The daily puzzle is shared by every player and changes with the date in Japan. Outside the daily you can start a new random puzzle at any time, and every puzzle has its own link to send to friends. Undo takes back a rotation and Restart puts the same puzzle back to the start. A short hint panel reminds you to look beyond the next merge.

The game works on desktop with the left and right arrow keys or by clicking, and on phones by tapping. It needs no download or account, and it is in English and Japanese.

How to play Rotate 2048

1. Open Rotate 2048 and choose the daily puzzle.
2. Press Left or Right (or the arrow keys) to turn the board 90 degrees.
3. Watch the discs fall with gravity; equal numbers that stack merge into their sum.
4. Keep rotating until a single 2048 disc appears.
5. Compare your rotation count with the minimum shown, then share or try a new puzzle.

• Before each turn, picture where down will be afterwards and which discs will land on each other.
• Use Undo freely to test a rotation and take it back.
• Plan the big merges first; small pieces often fall into place on the way.
• If the count gets high, Restart and look for a shorter route to the minimum.
