Relatle
Get from one music artist to another by hopping through related artists.
Every day: One artist matchup a day, the same for every player: get from the starting artist to the target artist by stepping through related artists, scored on how many steps you take. New puzzle: Midnight in your own time zone, from the game's code (the matchup is picked from your device's date).

Relatle gives you a starting artist and a target artist each day. You tap one of the starting artist's related artists, then one of theirs, and keep going until you reach the target. The fewer steps you take, the better your score.
About Relatle
Relatle is a daily music path game. Every artist in it comes with a short list of related artists, the other acts their fans often listen to, and the day's puzzle asks you to travel from one artist to another using only those links. Each tap moves you one artist along, and your score is the number of steps it took.
You can press and hold any artist to hear a sample of their music, which helps when you do not know a name. If a path is going nowhere you can reset back to the start, take a hint, or give up, though giving up shows in your shared result. When you finish, the game shows the shortest path that existed, how your score compares with the global distribution for that matchup, and your streak and all-time stats.
Beyond the daily matchup you can create a custom game between any two artists and send the link to friends, and there is a list of top custom games and an archive of past matchups. Stats can be moved between devices with a transfer code. The credits name Karim Kaylani as creator and Zade Kaylani as designer.
It suits listeners with wide taste: the quickest routes often cross genres through an artist who sits between two scenes.
How to play Relatle
- Open Relatle to see the day's starting artist and target artist.
- Tap one of the related artists shown under the starting artist.
- Keep tapping related artists to move closer to the target.
- Reset or take a hint if your path drifts away from the target.
- Reach the target, then compare your step count with the shortest path and other players.
Tips
- Think about which genre the target sits in and head towards it early, rather than going deeper into the starting artist's scene.
- Press and hold an unfamiliar artist to hear a sample before you commit to them.
- Artists who collaborate across genres often make good bridges.
- A reset costs nothing but adds to your reset count, so use it when you are clearly off course.
Questions
When does the Relatle matchup change?
At midnight on your own device's clock: the game picks the day's matchup from the local date.
How is Relatle scored?
By the number of steps your path takes from the starting artist to the target. Fewer is better, and the game shows the shortest possible path afterwards.
What is a related artist?
Another artist that fans of the current one frequently listen to; each artist shows a short list of them.
Can I play matchups other than the daily one?
Yes. You can create a custom matchup between two artists and share the link, and play from the archive and top custom games.
