Popdle
Find today's hidden song from one artist's catalogue using year, album, track and theme clues.
Every day: One artist and one hidden song of theirs a day, the same for every player; you have ten guesses, with a streak kept across days. New puzzle: Midnight Eastern Time (the game's help says a new artist drops at midnight EST).

Popdle is a daily music deduction game. Each day reveals one artist, and you guess which of their songs is the answer. Every guess is compared with the hidden song on release year, album, track number, lyrical theme and featured artist, coloured green, yellow or dark, and you have ten tries.
About Popdle
Popdle crosses a music quiz with the attribute-matching style of games like Loldle or Poeltl. You do not listen to anything. Instead, you pop a bubble to reveal the day's artist and then work out which song from their catalogue is hidden, using what you know about their albums.
Each guess is checked on five attributes. Year compares release years: green for the exact year, yellow within two years. Album is green for the same album and yellow for an album next to it in the discography. Track number is green for the exact position and yellow within two tracks. Theme compares the main lyrical theme, from a set of eight (love, heartbreak, money, party, introspective, storytelling, faith and struggle), with yellow for a related one. Feat checks the featured artist: green if it matches or both songs are solo, yellow if both have a feature but by different artists.
You have ten guesses. That is enough to triangulate if you know the artist's albums in order, but a deep catalogue still takes care, since several songs can share a year and a theme. Song data comes from MusicBrainz, and the puzzles are reviewed before they go out.
The game is free, needs no account and does not track players: your guesses, results and streak stay in your browser. A new artist arrives every day at midnight Eastern Time.
How to play Popdle
- Pop the bubble to see today's artist.
- Pick one of the artist's songs as your guess.
- Read the five colours for year, album, track number, theme and featured artist: green is a match, yellow is close, dark is off.
- Narrow it down and find the song within ten guesses, then share your result.
Tips
- Start with a song from the middle of the artist's career to split the albums in two.
- Pick a track around the middle of an album first; the track number clue then tells you whether to go earlier or later.
- Use the feat column early: if it is green on a solo song, every song with a guest is out.
- Think about album order before you start; the album clue only marks neighbouring albums as yellow.
