Numberle is a daily number game in the Wordle mould: guess a hidden five-digit number in six tries, with green, yellow and grey tiles telling you which digits are right, misplaced or absent. The site says the number is the same for everyone each day.

About Numberle

Numberle was created by the indie developer DDuarte during the Wordle boom of January 2022. It started on GitHub Pages and now lives at numberle.com, where it is looked after by Hey, Good Game, a small studio that keeps daily puzzles running. The site says it keeps the same daily sequence and puzzle numbers as the original, and that other Numberle sites are unaffiliated clones.

The rules are simple. Each guess must be a valid five-digit number. After you submit, a green tile means the digit is in the number and in the right spot, yellow means it is in the number but elsewhere, and grey means it is not in the number. You have six tries, and a new Numberle is available each day.

Besides the Daily puzzle there is an Unlimited mode for extra games that do not affect your streak, an archive, statistics with a guess distribution, and a spin-off called Guess 4. An optional free account carries your stats and streak across devices.

It suits players who like Wordle's logic but would rather think in digits than letters.

How to play Numberle

  1. Open numberle.com and choose Daily.
  2. Type a five-digit number and press enter.
  3. Read the tiles: green is right and in place, yellow is in the number elsewhere, grey is not in it.
  4. Find the number within six tries, then share your result.

Tips

  • Use five different digits in your first two guesses to cover ten digits quickly.
  • Once you know which digits are in, try them in new positions to pin each one down.
  • Practise strategies in Unlimited mode without affecting your streak.
