Nonodle's Today card: a blank 5-column by 7-row nonogram with its row and column clues, and Undo, Redo, Reset and Mode buttons

Nonodle is a small daily nonogram from LAB174, the maker of the nonogram game Nonoverse. Each day there is one compact picture-logic grid to fill from the number clues on its rows and columns, made to be solved in a few minutes on a phone.

About Nonodle

Nonodle is a daily nonogram puzzle by LAB174, a one-person project site that also publishes Nonoverse, a larger nonogram game with pixel-art pictures. It describes Nonodle as a bite-sized, mobile-friendly daily nonogram.

The rules are the classic ones. Each row and column has a list of numbers giving the lengths of the runs of filled cells in that line, in order, with at least one gap between runs. You fill cells or mark them with a cross until every clue is satisfied. A mode switch toggles between filling and crossing, and there are undo, redo and reset buttons. When you finish, the grid turns green.

The Today card holds the day's puzzle, and once it is solved a countdown shows when tomorrow's opens. Solving days in a row builds a chain shown on the page, and a show past puzzles link opens earlier days. There is also a share line for your result and a guide to solving nonograms.

It suits newcomers to nonograms and regular solvers who want a quick daily warm-up.

How to play Nonodle

  1. Open Nonodle; today's puzzle is at the top.
  2. Read the numbers beside each row and above each column: they are the lengths of filled runs in that line.
  3. Tap cells to fill them, or switch mode to mark cells you know are empty.
  4. Complete the grid so every clue matches, then come back tomorrow to extend your chain.

Tips

  • Start with the largest clues: a run of 4 in a 5-wide line always covers the middle three cells.
  • Cross out cells as soon as a line's clues are complete.
  • A 0 or a missing clue means the whole line is empty.
